May Mecca Order
So I may or may not have made another online order from Mecca (I did).
The Smashbox Contour Stick Trio launched at Mecca on the 26th May, and I've been waiting for them for so long that I thought I had better snap them up before they sell out, along with all the other items in my Mecca wish list. I also bought the only other item in my Mecca wish list that was actually in stock at the time; the Kiehl's Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner.
The package only arrived in the mail last night, so I can't comment much on the quality of the items, but I have tried everything out already.
I used the Kiehl's toner after I took my makeup off with my Garnier Micellar Water. I can safely say I've never used a toner that has felt so good before. It was so incredibly soft and gentle on my skin, I wanted to wipe it over my face all day long. Other toners I've used leave my face feeling quite oily, and I can really feel the product sitting on top of my skin, but the Keihl's toner settled into my skin straight away and left it feeling babies-bum soft! I'm so excited to continue using this, and to one day get the Kiehl's cleanser to use along side it. The toner is 236ml and was $30AUD.
The Smashbox Step-By-Step Contour Stick Trio comes with three cream crayon-looking sticks. The colours are 'Contour'; which is a grey-based brown to mimic shadows, 'Bronze'; which is more of an orange based brown to give a sun kissed look to the face, and 'highlight'; which is a yellow based white for brightening areas of the face.
The sticks come wrapped in tissue paper in the box, which gave it that little extra touch to make it feel more expensive. In the box was also a step-by-step guide to where to place each colour for different face shapes, and a sharpener. I'm not quite sure about the sharpener at the moment, as the packaging is plastic right up to the top, and as far as I can tell the sticks don't wind up, so the amount of product you can see now is all there is. I really hope this isn't the case because that seems like a tiny amount of product for the price. ($59AUD).
With every online order from Mecca you get to choose three samples, from around six options. I was really excited about the samples with this order, because they had some great choices. In the end I settled on the bareMinerals Foundation, the Korres Fig Shower Gel, and the Tocca Simone EDP. I haven't tried the bareMinderals foundation yet, but I've tried the other two samples.
I used the Korres Fig Shower Gel last night, and it was absolutely incredible. The smell was to die for, and it was so soft and smooth on my skin. With other shower gels I usually find the scent doesn't really stick to my skin at all, and that as soon as I wash off the suds I don't smell like the product anymore; but that wasn't the case with this one. I'm unashamed to say I was smelling myself all night, and even now, the next day, I can still faintly smell the gorgeous fig scent on my skin. The full sized product of this shower gel is $18AUD, and I've already added it to my Mecca wish list ready for my next order.
The TOCCA Simone Eau de Parfum is such a beautiful scent. The description says 'This fresh summer scent is reminiscent of waves that crest along the white sand of Sydney's Bondi Beach'. Beaches don't have that much of a distinct smell to me, so I think this is much better than the smell of the beach. I would say this is a very classy and sophisticated scent, that makes me feel happy and at ease as soon as I smell it. The full 50ml size of this product is $92AUD.
Overall I'm really happy my purchases and samples, and am really excited to use them more. I would definitely recommend going in store and smelling the Tocca EDP and the Korres Fig Shower Gel.
