Mother's Day Gift Ideas
Mother's Day Gift Ideas by Bec Rodriguez
Everyone knows that Mother's are incredible, so when Mother's Day comes around it's time to channel all of that love for your Mum and really spoil her. Think of all the time, effort, money and so much more that she has given you, now shower her in love and gifts!
10 Mother's Day Gift Ideas
1. Tom Ford Lipstick - $68AUD from David Jones
Lipstick is a pretty safe option, as virtually all women wear it. Whether your Mum is into makeup or not, she's bound to use this product. Try and make sure you get a colour she will definitely wear; 'Nude Vanille' is beautiful and probably your safest bet. This item is small, however, the packaging is so classy, and Tom Ford is a very luxurious brand. Pair with a cheap but pretty bunch of flowers if you're worried about the lack of size.
2. Jo Malone London Cologne - 30ml for $90AUD, or 100ml for $180AUD from Myer
This item is definitely a splurge, but Jo Malone is such a beautiful brand. If your Mum isn't the kind of person that would appreciate something from Jo Malone, I'd suggest going for a cheaper perfume that you think she'll like instead. A girl can never have too many perfumes; smelling great can always make you feel amazing. From Jo Malone I would suggest the scent English Pear and Freesia, however, it's best to smell a few different scents first and choose which one you think would suit your Mum. The packaging of this is so simple and elegant, I love it.
3. Jo Malone London Candle - $85AUD from Myer
As with number 2, if your Mum won't appreciate Jo Malone, any other candle will also be a great gift. I'm a big fan of candles, they always make the entire house smell lovely, which can really relax you and improve your overall mood. The packaging of the Jo Malone candle is so beautiful. For scents I would recommend Peony & Blush Suede, or Tomato Green Leaf.
4. Yves Saint Laurent Lipstick - $55AUD from Mecca
As with number 1, a lipstick is always a safe bet. Yves Saint Laurent is also a luxurious brand, but this packaging is extra special. Your safest colour options would be 'Nude Beige' or 'Peach Passion'.
5. Disolve Mug - $6.95 from Freedom
Everyone loves having their own special tea or coffee mug, so getting a mug or tea cup that is a little bit special for your Mum is a great gift. Try and find one that you think is perfectly your Mum's style. T2 have great quirky tea cups if your Mum is a tea drinker. A mug or tea cup is perfect if you're on a budget, just put it in a nice box with a bow and accompany it with a cheap bunch of pretty flowers and your gift instantly looks worth much more than it is.
6. Deliciously Ella Cookbook - $20AUD from Amazon
A cookbook is a perfect gift if your Mum is passionate and adventurous in the kitchen. If she isn't thrilled by cooking then it's probably best not to get her a cookbook. However, if she has to cook everyday it could still be a good idea to give her inspiration and spice things up a bit. Have a browse through cookbooks at Dymocks or Myer and choose one with recipes that incorporate food you know she loves. A great idea would be to give her the book with the promise to cook her a meal from it of her choice.
7. A Gift Voucher - $Any Amount
Most beauty spas have special deals on around Mother's Day, so its a great time to get her a voucher that virtually forces her to take some time for herself and relax. If you can't find a deal that you think she would enjoy, perhaps just a standard voucher with a certain amount of money on it. You can get gift vouchers like this from any shop, not just day spas. If she isn't one to usually spend money on herself a voucher from her favourite store would also be great.
8. Dax Vessel - $19.95 from Freedom
A nice new vase is a great way to add something new to the home. Give it to her wrapped nicely, or even buy a beautiful bunch of flowers and present them to her ready to go in her new vase. Make sure you choose a vase that will go with the decor in your house.
9. Slippers!
A comfy and cosy pair of slippers is always a great Mum gift. Winter is just around the corner so what better time to get some winter appropriate footwear. Pair the slippers with a tea or coffee mug (number 5) for a great winter warmer gift. Slippers can range from $5 to lots more, making this gift perfect for any budget. If you don't already know your Mum's shoe size, make sure you find out before buying these.
10. Plants
This can include so many different types of plants; potted plants, fake plants, terrariums, herb gardens, cactus gardens, indoor plants, outdoor plants, flowers, the list goes on! Plants are a great way to make any space feel that little bit nicer, and can be really beautiful. If you're buying a large plant make sure your Mum has a spot to put it in first. (Image 1, image 2)
That marks the end of my Mother's Day gifts. Hopefully I've sparked an idea or given you some sort of inspiration for the perfect present. I hope you all have a wonderful day with your Mum's this Sunday!
